For “In search of…” there are many wonderful guitar parts composed by Ray that harmonize with the NYC Subway train sounds that he recorded closely resembling a string section. A large part of my focus was to showcase this relationship and set up the sonic environment for these instances to shine in a subterranean ethereal world. For “In Search of…” we experimented with the appearance of very large organic layers of guitars and subway system ambiences together and then removed the layers to make the listener observe the stark spatial contrasts of the environments; presenting textures that exist between nature and the imagination."
